Shat-R-Shield's history dates back to the late 1960s, when Jim Nolan co-founded a company which provided job-shop plastic-coating services. This company, Incoplas, was involved in coating a variety of items, from fence parts to computer buss-bars. The firm developed an expertise in coating with nylon, epoxy, vinyl and other plastic materials. After many months of research and testing, Shat-R-Shield introduced the first plastic-coated fluorescent lamp in 1976, and with that arrival, the protective lighting industry began. Today Shat-R-Shield provides a full line of shatter-resistant lamps and lighting products that include: fluourescents, incandescents, compact flourescents, HIDs (high density discahrge), black lights, germicidals, gold lamps and globes. If a Shat-R-Shield lamp is accidentally broken, virtually all glass, phosphors and mercury are safely contained within the clear and tough, skin-tight plastic coating. Currently, millions of Shat-R-Shield lamps and lighting products are on-the-job world-wide for a wide variety of industries seeking the ultimate, cost-efficient worksite protection. > |
